Most stock tunes for the 7.3L can be pedal-to-the-metal when climbing, and most will not get too high EGT, or at least not over about 1,300°. With the added HP of the tow tune, you want to be able to go almost full throttle, but easy to drive by the pryrometer and not exceed 1,250° EGT. So you must back out of the go pedal to prevent too-high EGT. The higher the HP, the faster the pre-turbo EGT will reach the red line of 1.250°.
